There’s always a few questions when it comes to wedding photography — here’s a few answers to some you may have. If not, then feel free to get in touch.

1. How long have you been photographing weddings for?
My first wedding shoot took place on the 12th January 2008 and I’ve been photographing weddings since.

2. Do you require a deposit?
Yes, I require a $500 deposit to reserve your wedding date.

3. What is your primary photographic style?
Photojournalistic. Capturing interactions and emotions as they naturally happen from the sideline. I rarely ask people to pose aside from the family/group photos, meaning you can relax and enjoy your day.

4. Do you bring along a second photographer?
Nope, unless a second shooter is specifically required, it’s just me.

5. Can I obtain the digital image files?
Of course! I like simplicity. All my packages offer all the digital files on a USB drive as default for you to print as you like. If you would like prints or a photobook, just let me know and I can arrange it for you.

6. Do you keep copyright for the images taken?
Yes I do. However, you will be licensed to use all the images that are delivered as you like within the limitations of personal use. You can print and share them with your family and friends as you please.

7. Can you design me a wedding photobook?
Sure can, my background as a qualified graphic designer enables me to finely craft your very own blend of photography and typography.

8. Do you travel for weddings?
Yes absolutely. Taking into account additional travel and accommodation expenses, I’ll travel wherever I’m needed!

9. I’m not very comfortable in front of a camera. Do you have any suggestions?
You’ll find most of my photography is taken in a journalistic manner, meaning you’ll be unlikely to even notice I’m taking photos anyway. When the group photos do approach, there are plenty of tricks I’ve picked up to help you relax while in front of the lens.

An option to help with this is to have an hour engagement shoot prior to your wedding, it will assist in knowing what to expect before your big day.

10. What gear do you use?
I use professional Nikon SLR cameras (x2) and a range of Nikon prime lenses. During the creative shoot with the bridal party and with just the bride and groom I also use up to three remote Nikon Flashes triggered by Pocket Wizards to craft the truly dramatic images. All my gear is serviced and kept up to date.

11. How do I know my files are safe?
By backing up, and backing up again. I always shoot simultaneously to two high speed SanDisk cards during the day, then back up all the RAW files onto my computer straight after the day has ended. I then back up those files to two external HDs (one in a different location) before commencing any post-production work.
