Being a photographer is only a small part of what I do. Sure, I know my way around a camera, I know where to look for nice light, and know how to compose a powerful photo. But that’s not where the magic comes from.
It’s the experience you have together that counts. Knowing that you aren’t being posed or staged, but more documenting and telling the story of the real you. The feeling you have during your day, the mood and atmosphere, the energy, the laughter, the connection. This way we can create images with soul and purpose. I’ll join in seamlessly, letting you revel in your day as you’ve planned it, recording all the moments so you can re-live it as it really was.
I'm a proud dad, a good friend and a passionate photographer.
Having grown up in the country, I’ve learned how to have a pretty laid-back approach to most things. I know never to leave a farm gate open, I know when the ground clearance on my four wheel drive ain't going to cut it, and I know how to appreciate a good sunset.
From our home in Wanaka, New Zealand, we’ve got an incredible playground at our doorstep, almost like being a destination wedding photographer without having to leave home!
I've been shooting weddings since graduating from my graphic design studies in 2008. I’ve seen and learned a lot in that time. When I’m not taking pictures I’m busy spending time with my family. Any spare time I have usually has some form of snowboarding, four wheel driving or adventure involved!
Let’s grab a coffee or a local beer and see where our adventure can go…

I've been photographing weddings and adventurous couples since 2008, giving me many seasons of experience and a heap of local knowledge, all wrapped in a super relaxed personality.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long have you been photographing weddings?
I shot my first wedding in January 2008 and have been shooting ever since!
Can we meet beforehand?
Definitely. I think getting to know you (and you getting to know me) is really important. In most cases, couples travel in from out of town so often we don't meet until very close to your session date, which is why I encourage a catch up over Skype or a phone call go over your plans.
How will be photos be delivered and how many will I receive?
It varies from session to session, however for a full wedding day, you can expect approximately 600 images in a mixture of black and white and colour. These will be available at full resolution via a private online gallery.
I'm not local, can you recommend any locations?
All part of the service. There's endless locations accessible by vehicle, on foot or by helicopter. Let me know what type of setting is special to you and we can design a session to match.
Do you bring along a second photographer?
By default it's just me, however I have a great network of talented photographers I shoot with. If you would like a second shooter, let me know at the time of booking.
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely! Although home is in Wanaka, I'm regularly up in Canterbury and throughout New Zealand & Australia for photo sessions and weddings.
Do you offer prints and albums?
Yep, sure do! Over on my Goods page you can view my album options, designed in-house and crafted by some good folk over in Melbourne. Fine art prints and canvases are available to purchase directly from your personal photo gallery.
Deposits & balances. How does that work?
To complete your booking, I'll provide an invoice for a date reservation fee (33%) and a request for signature on an agreement. The second 33% is due 4 months out from your session date and the final balance is due the week leading up to your session.
Can you shoot a roll of film as well?
Yep, sure can! It’s a great way to add a selection of images with a slightly edgy, raw look. You can add this on at anytime before your session. My favourite is Ilford XP2 35mm (black and white).
Can you recommend any other wedding vendors?
Yep! I've worked with many talented people including venues, hairdressers, makeup artists and florists who I fully trust. You can find them on my vendors page.
